Bellows | Dressing bellows
Custom-made protective bellows for mechanical guarding and thermal shielding up to 1000 °C.
Protective bellows are flexible, hose-shaped covers that conform to defined motion paths — designed to shield moving machine parts (universal-joint shafts, piston rods, cylinders) from contamination, liquids, sparks and heat, and conversely to protect the surrounding environment from the medium passing through or alongside the machine.
By combining high-grade industrial textiles with selected coatings, the range covers everything from simple dust and chip protection to applications in steel mills and foundries with medium temperatures up to 1000 °C. Every bellows is handcrafted to drawing or measurement; profiles can be round, square or rectangular.
The right fabric depends on the application — temperature and medium are decisive:
- Tarpaulin — up to approx. 70 °C, commonly used for dust protection.
- Glass fabric — the "all-rounder", coated on both sides with PU or silicone, suitable for 250 – 550 °C.
- Aramid fabric with aluminium coating — up to approx. 350 °C, high tensile strength.
- Silicate fabric with aluminium or vermiculite coating — up to approx. 1000 °C, often used in steel mills and foundries.
