Mortar & Refractory Adhesives

High-temp mortars & refractory adhesives for bonding and repair of fibre, bricks & insulation boards

Mortars and refractory adhesives are the chemical counterpart to mechanical anchoring: they close the joints between firebricks, they bond fibre blanket to steel or concrete, and they make local repairs to an existing furnace or pipe lining possible without breaking out the whole lining.

We supply the full temperature range:

High-temperature mortars on an aluminosilicate or phosphate base for jointing firebricks up to approximately 1700°C, with fast set and low shrinkage. Refractory adhesives on a silicate or geopolymer base for bonding fibre blanket, vacuum-formed shapes and ceramic paper to steel walls up to approximately 1260°C — supplied in tubs or as cartridges for local repairs. Hardening mortars and surface coatings to finish fibre-blanket linings: these give the soft blanket a hard, abrasion-resistant outer layer that reduces erosion from particle-laden flue gas and the fibre release caused by high air velocities. Heat-resistant silicones and high-temperature sealing pastes for seals exposed to thermal cycling.

Standard products ship from stock; special chemistries or larger volumes are quoted on request.
