Microporous Insulation Boards
Microporous insulation boards with ultra-low thermal conductivity for industrial use up to 1200°C.
Microporous insulation boards earn their place wherever build space for insulation is tight and thermal efficiency still has to be best-in-class. Typical roles include compact industrial furnaces, thermal batteries and fuel cells, vehicle heat shields and exhaust assemblies, fire-rated structures in aerospace and buildings, and tight-tolerance linings in equipment design. At equal thickness, microporous insulation often halves the heat loss of conventional fibre or calcium silicate solutions.
The substrate is mainly highly dispersed silica (SiO₂) with an opacifier such as titanium dioxide. Its sub-micrometre pore structure suppresses gas-phase heat conduction (the Knudsen effect) and pushes thermal conductivity toward the thermodynamic minimum. Our KS-MPI1000 standard grade is available as NUD (unfaced), GV (glass-fleece), ALU (aluminium-faced) and TEX (textile-faced). The aluminium-faced variant adds mechanical protection and surface radiation reduction.
