Superwool Prime Paper

High-temp AES insulation paper with Superwool Prime chemistry for thermal barriers up to 1300°C.

Superwool Prime Paper is a thin, flexible AES insulation paper engineered for thermal barriers that exceed the working envelope of Plus-grade material — heavier process loads, hotter wall conditions, and tight back-up linings behind thin sheet steel where the 1260°C classification of standard Plus Paper is no longer sufficient. The paper retains the same fabrication-friendly form factor as Plus Paper: easy to cut, die-stamp, fold and bond into gaskets, sleeves and shaped inserts, with low thermal mass and a fast response to cyclic temperature changes. The step up sits in the chemistry. Superwool Prime is an alkaline-earth silicate fibre (AES) graded for a 1300°C classification temperature and a melting point of 1438°C — roughly 100°C higher than the Plus equivalent — and is exonerated from carcinogen classification under Note Q of EU regulation EC/1272/2008. Typical thicknesses fall in the 1–6 mm range; roll widths and bespoke sizes are available on request.
